How about Venezuela funds from 1998? They want to live in a tolerant, global world free of discrimination--and they care a lot about the missions of the companies they get involved with, both as employees and as consumers. That probably won't have a positive effect on venture capital returns.

Historically, we’ve taken the position that participation in the global economy is better for the spread of human rights. Venezuela much? You can’t call out Chinese government censorship but be ok with Florida book banning. We don’t necessarily want that happening to our companies overseas, do we?
