So when we elected a "tough on crime" Republican Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, that cemented my Republican leanings. Kicking Saddam's ass out of Kuwait made us feel good and patriotic. That's not what I thought as a kid. I never would have believed that stat. I mean, why would you be anything other than tough on crime?
