Before I started my first company in 1999 I worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). Soon after he was promoted to Senior Architect, our highest role without being CTO. I think we started working together in 2003 when he was new in the UK from South Africa. This is part of my Startup Advice series.

But as any programmer will tell you (I’m one), any lucrative contract or full time job you can get, especially these days, will usually leave you so burnt out by the end of the day that the last thing you will want to do is sit down and bang out more code.
