Ive occasionally worked with executive recruiters, for example in hiring a CTO for my first company, Eve.com. This time, I decided to handle the process myself. To sum up, heres what I would do again as a non-technical founder looking for a technical co-founder or CTO. Shes going to have a big impact on Minteds future.

Jud is an extremely experienced CTO / technical product manager and developer, but had never been a CEO. Oh, and they are hiring as fast as they can find great people ; across the spectrum (business, sales, & engineering). At this point, the other co-founder, Jud Valeski, stepped up to be the CEO.

They hire a team, spend months planning, their engineers build it, and… the final product isn’t quite right. Ask anybody what a software developer does and they can give you the one-sentence “makes software” answer. I think there tends to be this improper mindset that development resources are a commodity, and that they can’t be found easily…and subsequently, cheaply (or even free). Your points are solid.
