I’m currently coming up on my two-year anniversary as a software engineer on December 19, 2018. That same day back in June 2016, I decided I was going to be a software engineer.

In 2018, Canada had a record-low unemployment rate and as a result we are seeing more companies, startups and online-based businesses dedicated to serving the niche-jobs industry. Positions for software development and data science continue to expand throughout the industry. The province has a robust start-up community.
