Josh runs a series of Capital Factory-affiliated venture funds and is the most active early stage investor in Texas since 2013, according to Pitchbook. They helped us establish 2 GP entities, 2 LP entities, and 1 Cayman entity (for international investors) in ~2 months.

The funding was anchored by a major commitment from Two Sigma Ventures, the private venture investment affiliate of Two Sigma Investments. I'm ecstatic to announce that Brooklyn Bridge Ventures has just completed a first close of $3.5 million of limited partner commitments--a huge and exciting first step.

I've had the privilege of working not only for investors like Josh Kopelman and Fred Wilson, but for an institutional LP that had been invested in venture capital since 1980. When you tweet that you're researching affiliate marketing programs, front end development frameworks, etc.

It was important for me to affiliate with a fund with enough capital to bridge this gap and provide support to local NYC startups as they grow. In contrast, many Silicon Valley funds are large with much capital to put to work (which is why we are seeing them lead NYC deals at these stages).

We all started working with SoftBank as affiliates (along with Rich Levandov). I eventually co-founded SoftBank Technology Partners (which became Mobius Venture Capital) and SoftBank (the corporation) became a 50% LP in Flatiron with Chase. Jerry became partners with Fred Wilson and they started Flatiron Partners.
