I have a vested interest – not just due to an investment in Ad.ly I don’t think so. We all know and trust Brad to be authentic.
We agree on an equity split, vesting, and initial compensation structure. Later, we might chose to work out a partnership with another service provider, or do affiliate sales through other pages, but that would not come close to being a first priority. … A page that would be technically easy may have many stakeholders or vested interests that can cause barriers. Often, this happens because someone has a vested interest such as money, status, knowledge or reputation that places them in a position where the position calls the objectivity of their decision-making into question. A conflict of interest can occur when one party stands to benefit because of their position with another party.
There are some Vesting terms for founders in the term sheet but I can't find them in the others documents too. Specifically it would benefit from a clause nullifying these drag-along rights in case of a proposed sale to a preferred-affiliated entity. A template for promissory notes would be nice to have as well. Thanks in advance!
Vested helps employees and employers calculate exactly how much their options are worth, and when and how to monetize. I’m an investor in this company, via ff Venture Capital, HOF Capital, and/or an affiliate thereof. This also can be a valuable tool for increasing fund transparency and communicating with LPs.”.
Anyway, every time I write one of these “in defense of email” posts, I get criticized for having too vested an interest in the subject matter to be objective. Sherry’s follow up article entitled E-mail and Social Media: The New Chocolate and Peanut Butter. You can’t, or at least shouldn’t, have one without the other.

First thing I try to do is, a lot of times when this happens, is really the people who are having this big giant strategic test, that they have a lot of vested interest in there. Affiliated. This is a really cosmic question. That’s the time people tend to push back on the decision. Little ones, let it go. Where should they go?
The oldest university affiliated incubator in the country, the ATDC at Georgia Tech, is only 34 years old, a millennial, and now there must be many thousand incubator and accelerator programs just in the US. I bring this up because I believe we are often trying to teach founders how to do everything in their startups from scratch.
For funding, you’ll see a loose affiliation of early stage investors, something will start slow, and then gain momentum to eventually close the deal. You can give them 20% of the company with a vesting schedule over four years (this way if things don’t work out you don’t lose too much), and you add infinite value to your team.
