We had a wide-ranging discussion which included discussions of Eric’s early career (including his failures), how he came to focus on the Lean Startup movement (at the encouragement of Steve Blank who was an investor in the company he co-founded) and what he wants to do next. when is the right time to go big with PR? The Lean Startup movement has made tremendous progress in the past year. If you recall, around this time last year we were still fighting various myths , such as “ lean means cheap ” or that we don’t support having a big, world-changing vision. No BS, no vanity metrics, no launches, no PR.
But too often when its time to think about customers, marketing, positioning, or PR, we delegate it to "marketroids" or "suits." This theory has become so influential that I have called it one of the three pillars of the lean startup - every bit as important as the changes in technology or the advent of agile development.

I know that this all seems obvious now with the movements started by Steven Blank ( Four Steps of Epiphany ) with the whole Customer Development processes / Lean Startup movements also popularized by people like Eric Ries.
