I couldn’t resist, so I put my name in the hat. Later that night, I did my pitch to an audience of about 50-75. I chatted with them shortly before the pitching started and found out that they are from Portland, Oregon, yay, my home state! I saw a posting on the Women 2.0 I had won. It was great! Congratulations to them.

I wasn’t as early as you, of course, but I was there early enough where I was able to land grab and really get a name and momentum that I’ve continued to be able to build momentum, momentum, momentum. I think that when you have built up an audience, that audience does want more of you. It’s not niche enough.

Given the diversity of audience your home page gets, the desire to give them plenty of “what if” options is natural. Be especially ruthless with products and product images: prioritize relevant visuals (namely, high-quality product images) over stuff that’s just “pretty” (e.g. Clarity means never assuming your audience know anything.
