The defining moment for VisionSpring was when Founder Jordan Kassalow went on a volunteer mission to Mexico at age 23. How was VisionSpring named? Originally named the Scojo Foundation in 2001 and re-named VisionSpring in 2008, Scojo Foundation was named for co-founders Jordan and Scott (ScoJo).

Bonus points for the fact that they partner with the social enterprise Vision Spring to facilitate training for optometrists and eye glass manufacturers in the same countries that they donate glasses to (India, Guatemala, and Bangladesh to name a few), so the communities also receive opportunities for sustainable income.

Usually, the remote workers work from home or co-working spaces and visit the company office once per month or even once per quarter. ‘’ABC, a US company, signs an agreement with Mr ‘’X’’, a citizen of Bangladesh. A good example is a company based in London creating remote jobs in Bristol.

I wish that the badges had the company names instead of just names. Founder of JackCards.com. I had no idea what people did whether tech, entertainment, or design. In any case, the valley is small. I met 2-4 women whom I’ve met at other SV events. Some folks whom I met: Debra Bowen, Secretary of State of California.
