So I initially gravitated to the CTO title, and not VP of Engineering. Instead, they find options and can communicate them to everyone in the company. Find the 80/20 - this was my favorite part of the job. I would love to see some blog posts on any experiences you have had with set-based design. Great piece!

The Consultative Sale Our sales guy then quietly asked if there was any way we could help them. The VP of Engineering says, “well we don’t have the resources or time, and as long as you know we could build better computers then you guys, why don’t you tell us the details about your computers.” Help them?!!

Don’t hire people with skills and qualifications similar to yours. Hire based on functionality and avoid having too many C’s. Hire based on functionality and avoid having too many C’s. Rather, give titles such as VP of Engineering, Product/Technology, Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc.
