Our tests suite takes nine minutes to run (distributed across 30-40 machines). Our code pushes take another six minutes. Since these two steps are pipelined that means at peak we’re pushing a new revision of the code to the website every nine minutes. On average we deploy new code fifty times a day.

While you may not be able to address all of them, you can work with your dev team to find and fix the more technical areas: Slow application logic : Use a code profiling tool to help determine which dependencies are being used on your site and how long each of those dependencies takes to load. Use caching.

Writes stress a data store all the way to the disks, while read benchmarks may only exercise the in-memory cache. We use these for read intensive workloads to cache more data in memory. distribution plus Netflix specific tooling and instrumentation. This team is currently looking for an additional engineer.
