I didn’t know anything about the internet, but I knew that he was a very smart guy, so I called him and asked if I could come. He said yes, so I found myself in Los Angeles during the first internet boom.

At the time no one (including Apple) knew exactly what consumers were going to do with multimedia, it was still pre-Internet. The Cinepak codec was written by the engineer who would become my cofounder at Rocket Science Games.) I was the Senior Technical Writer for SMac from 1988-1991. There was nothing for the consumer to do.
