The brewery has experienced a high level of success in the regional market, with a wide distribution in Wyoming and a satellite brewpub in Bellingham, Washington. And I’m anticipating doing a lot of this in the places our portfolio companies are scattered: the Bay Area, New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Toronto, Portland, San Diego, Boston, Salt Lake City, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, and so on. There’s just so much community and learning-by-osmosis (or serendipity) that comes from being together.

We added an employee-of-the-month program, we work on providing meals and beers, and trips to Portland, but retaining people is still a tough one. Colleen: Currently it’s all about distribution.
