At a young age I watched her open a bakery, which in the early 80′s was ahead of its time in serving croissants, gourmet coffee and high-end, homemade cakes, cheesecakes and french pastries for our small town of Sacramento, California (Carmichael, if you know the area). If you give up after this you’re not an entrepreneur.

My mom was an entrepreneur – she was kind of my inspiration for entrepreneurship. She was president of the UJA in Sacramento – the United Jewish Appeal. Then she opened a bakery and a second bakery and then a restaurant – in Sacramento. Then everyone just started calling me a serial entrepreneur. What are you going to do?
