When we started the company, I didn’t want it to be called “Grunden & Hale” as is the standard for CPA firms because I envisioned the firm becoming much larger than just me and Adam. Summit CPA is now a company with over $5M in annual revenue and our team is fully distributed throughout the United States. And I was right.
Distribution revenue is CPC and CPA. . At the end of the day Kayak’s playing a key role in the online travel process, but it appears more of the revenue comes from filling top of the conversion funnel rather than the middle or bottom of it. Ad revenue is still mostly performance based CPC, though some sold on CPM basis.
With PPC, the goal is for the search user to not only see your ad, but to click on it to get to your website (click-through), and buy your widget (conversion to sale). Cost per action (CPA). It pays only if a customer clicks through AND takes a further action (conversion), such as buying a product or filling out a web form.
