I’ve had this conversation with several communities such as in San Diego where I believe there are way more qualified and talented engineers than available local capital to support them. Actually, there is tons of wealth in San Diego but it isn’t organized well to support them. San Diego has Qualcomm.
For reason number two people pay a higher price & rent in New York than they do in SanAntonio, Texas. It is the new cocktail party conversation. The price of property has an inherent value tied to two factors: 1) the rental rate you could charge for your property and 2) annual salaries in a given geography.
