Examples might be a recommendation engine, search engine, matching engine or something with a complex interface. Simple MVPs get built with less the 3 Programmer Months worth of effort (that's 3 months a single programmer working full-time). We needed the matching algorithm. There are some MVPs that are unavoidably complex.
The challenge is to recognize and recruit that ideal partner match early with minimal cost and risk. The reason is that good attributes apply equally well to “external” partners, as they do to internal partners, like a co-founder or CTO. Partner decisions are more important than team member hiring decisions.

The problem is that doesn't match with reality and likely they need to find more dollars. Recovery from this situation is hard. I wish I had a better answer. Pull the Plug Early - poor developers who exhibit symptoms of weak development will not become good. They often tell you they fired someone too late.

Corporate business development and strategic partner executives are flocking to Silicon Valley to find these five types of innovation.
