Entrepreneurs from Japan, France and now Russia believed they could help startups in their country if the Four Steps to the Epiphany was available in their native tongue. Filed under: CustomerDevelopment. All these translations have been crowd-sourced. They translated it at their own expense. Blame it On Eric. Good enough.
Think, for example, about the way we talk about sales and customerdevelopment and the idea of ‘getting out of the building.’ Impatient investors and team members give little support to a founder trying to do CustomerDevelopment to verify or modify that idea. Worries from the garage One of the worries I hear from entrepreneurs (not just my students) is that CustomerDevelopment means getting out of the building and sharing what you are working on. When I ran Rocket Science our corporate partners were in Japan (Sega), Germany (Bertelsmann) and Italy (Mondadori) and some travel was unavoidable.
