The company was already reeling from two Boeing 737 Max crashes in 2018 and 2019 that killed 346 passengers in Indonesia and Ethiopia, and forced the company to ground its entire fleet of Max jetliners. which he and two partners started in 1987 to design and build offshore oil platforms.

We came up with a different way of transparently handling public donations (the 100% model), cared deeply about design and storytelling, and wanted to hold ourselves accountable to effective work in the field (which at first was as simple as putting up all the photos and GPS of our water projects on Google earth and maps).
