You meet interesting people backstage at conferences and in 2013 that included Jonathon Triest who started Detroit-based Ludlow Ventures. HW: Sooooo Detroit VC scene. We moved our offices to Downtown Detroit nearly three years ago and the transformation has been spectacular. That’s not something I’ve seen outside of Detroit.

An excellent example of a social enterprise is The Empowerment Plan —an organization that hires people currently living in homeless shelters to create a combination winter coat, sleeping bag, and over-the-shoulder bag, which is then distributed to the homeless of Detroit free of charge.
