SEM is a simple idea. Trying to answer that question at IMVU led me to discover Google AdWords and the world of search engine marketing.
Paid search engine marketing (SEM) increases a company’s ranking in the search engine, getting more clicks. This is the power of SEM marketing. Email marketing is another effective marketing technique. A recent e-commerce study found that emails have more than double the conversion rate of social media campaigns.
Finally the day came, we unleashed the landing page, emailed our existing customers, and started advertising online. Dont worry about selecting particularly good keywords, if youre new to SEM. Depending on the type of product, postings on forums, classifieds and emails could give enough information to help gauge potential response.

Building new revenue streams in an untapped channel, like content marketing or email marketing. A common framework for defining your growth model is Dave McClure’s Pirate Metrics for startups : the AARRR framework. For each stage of the funnel, consider the distinct metrics that ladder up to your business’s KPIs. New channels.
Focus on the output metrics of that part of the product, and you make the problem a lot more clear. I used to think that investments in metrics were a form of waste. Customers dont care if you have good metrics, only if you have a good product. The only reason we learned the art of metrics-based decision making at IMVU was out of necessity. that justify decisions already made. I think it was $350 the next, and so on.

So what is this mysterious metric? In Adobe's Site Catalyst bounce rate is not a standard metric, but you are able to create a special custom metric. If you don't fall into those two categories you need to pay very careful attention to this metric. It is almost instantly accessible in any web analytics tool.
