This change accounts for the very slight increase in rps seen in several frameworks, including those that saw no change to their benchmark or library code. In the first round from last week, we used WeigHTTP ( https://github.com/lighttpd/weighttp ). Our conjecture is that Wrk is just slightly quicker at processing requests.

I thought I was pretty sell suited to answer that question because having grown up in Northern California but lived and worked in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain & Japan over 11 years I had seen quite a few societies and work environments. Are we right in all of our assumptions and diligence? We checked regulatory rules.

We hired people to run the UK and Germany. One the one hand I feel great because we went out and built software that solved an industry problem. I’m not trying to take credit beyond where credit is due. He was to head up UK operations. We built 4 products simultaneously with no market feedback. I did the grunt work.

I worked in both before leaving to work in a software company at 17. I used to ask Deborah to book my travel plans in France and Germany were I went 1-2 times / month. I had a business class seat due to status of flying a lot and my family was in economy. She opened 2 businesses – a bakery and then a restaurant.

We went through the euphoria of massive exposure at the time of our launch due to an article that ran in the Financial Times. Our software wasn’t fully baked. We had one of the largest US software companies talk about buying us. We were unprepared. Our phones rang off the hook. Our company was completely euphoric.

Indeed, Silicon Valley was born as a center for weapon systems development and its software and silicon helped end the Cold War. And from then on, innovation in semiconductors, supercomputers, and software would be driven by startups, not the government. Some of the speed is simply due to development methodologies.
