Reaching out to new markets and opportunities requires skills, experience, and networks that are usually developed by those who have studied abroad. Just like its neighbours, Ghana is a predominantly agricultural country dependant on the cocoa production.
If your business doesn’t work out, you can go back to the drawing board, refinance, use tech solutions and networks to help you change tack. But in countries like South Africa and Ghana entrepreneurial failure is seen by many as shameful.
A Global Platform: That being said, I wanted to leverage my global network from years of investing in Silicon Valley, Europe, Asia and Latin America to build a venture platform that adds value beyond NYC borders. More importantly, building global networks is key in order to optimize exit opportunities for portfolio companies.
Your brand lives in everyday interactions your company has with its prospects and customers, including the images you share, the messages you post on your website, the content of your marketing materials, your presentations and booths at conferences, and your posts on social networks. Importantly, your brand is not what you say it is.

So we quit to pursue our entrepreneurial dreams, as we took our cue from Howard Beale as he cried out in the movie, Network, “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!” We are generating employment for countries such as the United States, Philippines, Canada, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Ghana and Nepal.
That’s like you saying you don’t want to go to cocktail parties and network anymore while every 25-35 year-old VC steals your customers. It’s the Millennial version of The Food Network. Remember – it’s an ephemeral network. Click on Tastemade – one of my favorite channels. Be careful.
