The bad news is that patent trolls (non-producing companies that make their money from licensing patents) can squeeze the lifeblood out of unsuspecting entrepreneurs, as exemplified by the recent mess around Lodsys suing small Apple IOS developers. Software changes fast and the government moves slowly. We need a global solution.

While regulation is certainly here for crypto, the SEC appears to be making good on its claim that it wants to support innovation while holding companies to current laws. Both governments asserted that no private entity should claim monetary power.
