Mobile Data as a percentage of total revenue is about 7.5%. India was a major market for Blackberry (like Indonesia), but the youth segment abandoned RIM for Android. Data services currently contribute only about 8-9 % of revenue for mobile operators, versus 52% in the US. Mobile Data ARPU is 60-70 Rupees per data user.

They want to see cash flow quickly (you cannot wait 2-3 years before determining your revenue model, like in Silicon Valley), so make sure you’re ready for this next step and have a solid plan in place on how to accomplish it.

In a 2011 and 2012 survey conducted by McKinsey of SMEs in Asia, SMEs who use the Internet say it has helped them gain revenue as well as reduce costs.
