After three of these slides, smart VC’s will recognize that by iterating on your assumptions you have dramatically reduced risk– on your nickel, not theirs. They will realize that you have built a startup that’s agile, resilient and customer-centric.

These days, many agencies start as a lean operation. Inversely, if you’re using the agency model to fund another startup or product, you should probably keep things lean. The hard work is building out a team that can deliver on those services, along with leadership that can ensure a smooth operation and a stellar service for clients.

Don’t just ‘lean in.’ Women need to take a posture of leadership and readiness, taking ownership of their own development and job advancement. You have to stop this line of thinking in its tracks the minute you catch yourself going there. Stay in your own lane, doing the unique things you were wired to do. You must Stand Up!
Their study wasn’t specifically about entrepreneurship, but it stands to reason that women, especially millennial women, had some good reasons to lean toward forging their own path—essentially sidestepping inequalities by building their own companies. Millennial women are redefining leadership and entrepreneurship. Work harder.
For instance, maybe your leadership is consistently undermined because you avoid confronting insubordinate team members. If he leans forward, you should lean forward too. With this information, you can acknowledge that your critter brain wants to avoid a fight at all costs. If he speaks softly and slowly, so should you.
