While the Lean LaunchPad class has been adopted by Universities and the National Science Foundation, the question we get is, “Can students in K-12 handle an experiential entrepreneurship class?” Knowing they had 3 weeks before presenting to the company co-founders, the kids felt intensity like no traditional classroom could generate.
Todd Branchflower took my Lean LaunchPad class having been entrepreneurial enough to convince the Air Force send him to Stanford to get his graduate engineering degree. It was only after returning to Stanford and taking the Lean Launchpad class that I became convinced that a radically different, customer-centric approach was the solution.

We feel pressure to hit milestones for a variety of reasons: Investor presentations, conference demos, customer sales meetings, competitive pressures, a need to drive revenue, business development commitments – whatever. Long before there was the Lean Startup, Business Model Canvas or Customer Development there was a guy in Santa Barbara California who had already figured it out. For after-dinner drinks we polished the new presentation and said a short prayer. We returned to the factory and presented our new path. The next day was sunny.
Make your purpose to leave a legacy as a model leader , and it will live on for years, with continuing positive impacts in staff meetings, presentations, and around the water cooler.
