Africa has most of the elements required for technology innovation. Alliy is managing partner of the Savannah Fund , a $10 million fund that will soon begin investing in technology startups in East Africa, including Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. So Mbwana Alliy is creating the Savannah Fund fund to help them.

Their mission resonated with me so asked a few questions about how technology and social media have helped them grow. I had just moved back to the US from living in Uganda working with an artisan group, and was thrilled to find a brand here in Austin that so perfectly aligned with the kind of work I wanted to continue doing.

Luckily, great strides have been made in technology that is bringing access to clean water and toilets to areas.
