TSMC in Taiwan is the leader in logic, Samsung is second. But they don’t design chips.

Also, two OpenAI researchers published a paper describing a new continuous-time consistency model (sCM) that increases the speed at which multimedia including images, video, and audio can be generated by AI by 50 times compared to traditional diffusion models.

As if on cue, BTC prices are back over $6000 and not negatively impacted by the news of the Binance hack — Taiwan-based Binance is the largest crypto exchange in the world by volume. Speaking of which, up until this morning, the Binance hack was the biggest news to hit the sector in the past week.

A Taiwan outfit created a c lanaguage interface to EEMS which worked, but I had to speed it up by a factor of 4 by rewriting what they did.

In other words, from a business model perspective, Nokia is going directly after the end consumer and encroaching on precious data and subscription revenue of their carrier partners. Once again, for Nokia, recurring monthly revenue from every new cell phone buyer is a wonderful thing. The only question is when will this happen, not if.
