My dad’s father was from Romania. He left in his early twenties to come to America for his med-school residency. He started out in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, where I was born. A patriotic place – fitting for the 4th of July. He escaped Jewish oppression in the pogroms. She, too, was from the old world.
His father, my grandfather, ended up in South America after fleeing Jewish oppression in Romania. My dad was an immigrant from Colombia. He moved to the US for medical school, the first in his family to ever do this. His crossroads were literally life or death decisions, as they are for millions of people around the world today.

However, in the long run, given the competitiveness and cost increase of doing business in India, I am sure that many companies will increasingly look to other locales with strong talent and less competition like Belarus, Romania, Argentina, Russia, and China. I am already seeing that happen.
